TURM Observatory will stream the solar eclipse live on Twitch on March 29 – chat interaction possible
On Saturday, March 29, 2025, the TURM Observatory at TU Darmstadt will broadcast the partial solar eclipse live on the streaming platform Twitch. The stream begins at 11:00 a.m. with a short introduction by Professor Robert Roth from the Department of Physics. He will explain the telescopes used, the observation methods, and the scientific background of solar eclipses.
Following the eclipse, the solar telescopes of the TURM Observatory will display live camera images of the entire event. In Darmstadt, the eclipse begins at 11:21 a.m., reaching its peak with maximum coverage at 12:10 p.m. The end of the eclipse is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
Viewers can ask questions and interact via live chat throughout the entire broadcast. In the week leading up to the event, the TURM Observatory will publish up-to-date weather information on its website.
