Bringing electricity and heat together: Event provides information on climate protection and the energy transition
Darmstadt. Under the motto "Bringing electricity and heat together," the science city of Darmstadt invites to a solar party and an open boiler room day Saturday, November 15. The event begins at 11 a.m. in the Orangerie (Bessunger Straße 44) and is aimed at anyone interested in energy efficiency, heat pumps, and sustainable heating solutions .
Climate protection officer Michael Kolmer emphasizes: “Climate protection is best achieved together. Today it is clear: Many have already implemented great solutions – and are sharing their knowledge.”
Expert presentations, advice and practical examples
The event is divided into two parts. In the morning, short presentations on the energy and heat transition, solar systems, heating optimization, and heat pumps held in the orangery. Afterwards, visitors can seek advice at information booths .
Also in the morning, there is the opportunity to visit a geothermal heat pump BUND Centre for Urban Nature
From 2 p.m. , as part of the nationwide "Open Boiler Room Day," private individuals in various districts of Darmstadt will open their boiler rooms to the public. There, they will showcase modern heating systems , including air-to-water, brine-to-water, groundwater, and hot water heat pumps . Interested visitors can gain firsthand experience during half-hour guided tours.
