US singer-songwriter brings energy, temperament and attitude
The multi-Grammy-nominated US singer-songwriter SONiA disappear fear returns to Darmstadt! On Thursday, April 24, 2025, at 8:00 p.m., she will give a concert at the Bessunger Knabenschule – as part of the popular Americana concert series.
“She’s a crowd favorite and is bringing the spring sunshine back to Darmstadt,” says Americana curator Thomas Waldherr . SONiA stands for a unique blend of social engagement and musical entertainment . Her music conveys clear messages against homophobia, racism, and violence , wrapped in catchy folk-rock melodies.

Music with attitude – folk, rock and clear messages
SONiA disappear fear is Bob Dylan's cousin , but musically she was particularly influenced by his contemporary Phil Ochs . Her trademark is high-energy performances, imbued with passion, social awareness, and a clear political stance .
For years, the artist has been committed to human rights , including the release of Turkish singer Nudem Durak , who was imprisoned because of her Kurdish songs. She also raises her voice in current crises: she advocates for peace in Ukraine and against terror and war in the Middle East.
