Cultural event organizers and artists can apply to participate in the South Hesse Cultural Summer The 33rd Cultural Summer will take place from June 1 to September 27, 2026, and will present a diverse cultural program throughout South Hesse.
The South Hesse Cultural Summer stands for artistic diversity, regional networking, and cultural participation. Projects from various disciplines are welcome, including music, theater, dance, literature, visual arts, cabaret, and interdisciplinary formats. Concepts that offer fresh perspectives, appeal to diverse audiences, and make culture easily accessible are particularly encouraged.
Funding and visibility for projects
In addition to financial support, the South Hesse Cultural Summer offers extensive promotional assistance. This includes inclusion in the central event calendar in digital and printed form, accompanying press and social media work, as well as special formats such as open studio days, which provide artists with additional visibility.
Application exclusively online
Applications are accepted exclusively online via the South Hesse Cultural Summer website. The form requests information about the event or studio, a brief project description, a financing plan (if applicable), and details regarding accessibility and barrier-free access. Up to three images can also be uploaded. The application process is clearly structured and can be completed entirely digitally.

The South Hesse Cultural Summer is funded by the Hessian Ministry of Science and Research, Art and Culture as well as the Savings Banks Cultural Foundation of Hesse-Thuringia and supported by LOTTO Hesse, ENTEGA and the Wilhelmine Thoß Foundation.
