Over 230 measuring stations in operation on April 15th
The police in Hesse will again participate in the Europe-wide speed marathon of the ROADPOL network in 2026. The aim of the campaign is to increase road safety and, in particular, to reduce speeding violations.
This year's action day will take place on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Extensive checks throughout the state
More than 570 emergency personnel are deployed during the speed marathon. They monitor vehicle speeds at over 230 measuring points. In addition to the police, municipal employees are also involved.
The measure is part of a cross-border initiative to combat accident causes such as excessive speed.
Focus on road safety
Inappropriate speed remains one of the leading causes of serious traffic accidents. Targeted enforcement aims to reduce the risk of accidents resulting in serious injuries or fatalities.
