City calls on citizens to participate in a joint clean-up effort
Weiterstadt invites everyone to participate in this year's spring cleaning. A city-wide cleanup event will take place on Saturday, April 18, 2026, starting at 10 a.m., and residents, clubs, school classes, and businesses are all welcome to join.
The goal is to rid public areas, green spaces and paths throughout the city of waste and thus sustainably improve the cityscape.
Joint commitment to a clean city
Mayor Niklas Gehnich emphasizes the importance of the campaign: The spring cleaning stands for community engagement and sends a visible sign of environmental awareness and responsibility.
The city provides all participants with equipment such as gloves, grabbers and garbage bags and organizes the collection routes.
Participation is also possible during the week
Those who are unable to attend the day of action can participate in the week starting Monday, April 13, 2026 , and collect trash independently.

The event concludes with a shared meal
As a thank you for your support, the city invites everyone to a joint lunch after the event:

mini-golf course at Braunshardter Tännchen
