In its annual balance sheet for 2024, the Griesheim city library has once again achieved a record value in the borrowings. A total of 69,280 media were borrowed - a clear increase compared to 2023 with around 67,000. The demand for digital media grew particularly strongly: 17,527 borrowings were on loan e-media, which corresponds to around a quarter of all loans.
Books remain more popular medium - tonies in demand

Over 16,000 visitors on site - 26 events carried out
16,658 visitors used the offer on site in 2024 (2023: 16,322). The library counted over 1,500 regular readers and was able 333 new registrations . There were 26 events , including numerous picture book cinemas and media education offers for children. The highlights were a reading for the 125th birthday of Elisabeth Langgässer in cooperation with the city archive and the second Griesheim book fair . A total of 864 guests part in the events.
