The Greens invite you to a tour with planning officer Kolmer on June 13th
Under the motto "Urban Green Spaces Mean Quality of Life," the Bessungen district group of the Green Party (Alliance 90/The Greens) to a themed walk with Planning Director Michael Kolmer on Friday, June 13, 2025. The focus will be on the Ludwigshöhe district , one of the most important development areas for sustainable urban planning in Darmstadt.
The walk begins at 2 p.m. at the Musikakademie/Gleisschleife stop and lasts until approximately 5 p.m. The event is aimed at anyone interested in learning more about climate-friendly urban development , the quality of public spaces , and the role of urban green spaces in new neighborhoods .
“Especially in a growing district like the Ludwigshöhviertel, we have the opportunity to create structures from the outset that will have a long-term impact – with well-designed green spaces, livable places to stay and climate-friendly planning,” Kolmer emphasizes in the run-up to the tour.
The aim of the walk is to demonstrate how climate adaptation , urban design , and quality of life can be interconnected – and why green spaces are not a luxury, but a central component of sustainable cities. In addition to expert insights, dialogue with citizens is also a key focus.
