Successful cooperation between the city of Weiterstadt and the prison
The Weiterstadt Civic Center now boasts a new, custom-made stage curtain. This was created through a collaboration between the city of Weiterstadt and the Weiterstadt Correctional Facility (JVA) . The project was initiated by a business networking event held at the JVA in 2025, which sparked new ideas for cooperation.
The existing stage curtain was clearly worn after several decades of intensive use. A high-quality replacement was therefore made in the prison's tailoring workshop. The new curtain took many hours to create and was subsequently professionally installed in cooperation with the city's maintenance team.
Mayor Ralf Möller is pleased with the result: “The new curtain significantly enhances our community center. I am particularly pleased with the excellent cooperation with the prison. This project demonstrates how valuable regional collaborations can be – both for our municipal facilities and for the people involved.”
The city of Weiterstadt thanks everyone involved for their commitment and the smooth implementation of the project. The new stage curtain will be used at upcoming events in the community center and is expected to contribute to a modern and harmonious stage experience.
