Joint launch with Bar-le-Duc to mark the 50th anniversary of the partnership
To kick off the celebrations marking the 50th anniversary of the town twinning between Griesheim and Bar-le-Duc, a friendship tree planted in Bar-le-Duc Square last Friday. Mayor Geza Krebs-Wetzl , together with employees of the municipal works department and city employee Diana Chevallier a French maple , a symbol of the connection with the French twin town.

Invitation to the anniversary celebration on June 28th
The highlight of the festivities is the official anniversary celebration on Saturday, June 28th , from 2 pm to 5 pm in the carriage house . All citizens of Griesheim are cordially invited to celebrate together with guests from Bar-le-Duc.
Bar-le-Duc: A long-standing partnership
The partnership with Bar-le-Duc in Lorraine is Griesheim's oldest town twinning. It has existed since 1975 and is characterized by regular visits and close cultural exchange. The city, located approximately 370 kilometers away, lies on the Ornain River and the Rhine-Marne Canal and has about 15,000 inhabitants . Historically, Bar-le-Duc is known for its role as the former seat of the Dukes of Bar and Lorraine. Today, the city offers not only impressive architecture but also modern residential areas, leisure activities, and excellent transport connections.
