Joint start with bar-le-duc for the 50th anniversary of the partnership
At the start of the celebrations for the 50th anniversary of the city partnership between Griesheim and Bar-Le-Duc, a friendship tree planted on the Bar-Le-DUC square last Friday. Mayor Verfa Krebs-Wetzl , together with employees of the building yard and the municipal employee Diana Chevallier a French maple , the symbol for the connection with the French twin city.
A French maple was also planted as a sign of friendship in bar-le-duc The mutual planting campaigns mark the official start of the anniversary year, in which further encounters and celebrations are planned.
Invitation to the anniversary celebration on June 28th
The highlight of the festivities is the official anniversary celebration on Saturday, June 28 , from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the Wagenhalle . All citizens of Griesheim are cordially invited to celebrate with guests from bar-le-duc.
Bar-Le-Duc: A long-term partnership
The partnership with bar-le-duc in Lorraine is Griesheim's oldest city friendship. It has existed since 1975 and is characterized by regular visits and close cultural cooperation. The city around 370 kilometers away is located on the Ornain and the Rhein-Marne Canal and has around 15,000 inhabitants . Historically, Bar-Le-Duc is known for its function as a former seat of the dukes of Bar and Lorraine. Today, in addition to impressive architecture, the city also offers modern residential areas, leisure activities and good transport links.
