Exchange at all levels: friendship, fire brigade and festive mood at the anniversary in Brandenburg
Reinheim/Fürstenwalde -From July 3 to 6, 2025, the 35th anniversary of the city partnership between Reinheim and Fürstenwalde on the Spree was celebrated. A delegation from Reinheim traveled to the Brandenburg partner city and experienced a diverse program there - from official discussions to joint excursions to cultural exchange with music and boat trip.
Mayor Manuel Feick led the official urban delegation. Also included were members of the partnership association, the Reinheim band "Mittendrin" and the honorary city councilor Harald Heiligenthal , who was already present in 1989 when signing the certificate of default in Fürstenwalde.
Exchange about security, climate and culture
At the start of the trip, the Reinheimer delegation in the town hall met with Fürstenwaldes Mayor Matthias Rudolph and other representatives of the city administration. In the evening there was an official reception in the city's historic hunting lodge.
A special program item was visiting the Fürstenwalde Feuerwache Mitte . There, six firefighters were awarded for their participation in the "Fire Fighters Stair Run" in Berlin. The role of the fire brigade in disaster protection was also the subject of exchange. Subsequently, a visit to the company Geoclima Design due, which developed modern solutions for heating and air conditioning technology.
On Friday evening, both mayors opened the city festival together. The Reinheim band "Mittendrin" provided musical highlights on two stages - a lively sign of cultural connection.
Stadtforst, city festival and Spree boat trip
On Saturday a walk led through the 4,500 hectare city forest Fürstenwalde to the local Friedwald. During the subsequent tour of the city festival, security concepts for events were in the foreground. A visit to the city museum and a grilling together in the rudder and water sports center formed the sociable end- crowned by a boat trip on the Spree with the fire brigade.
Partnership lives from people
"Such encounters show how important and lively city partnerships can be," said Mayor Manuel Feick . "The intensive exchange between administration, volunteering, culture and citizenship underlines the high value of this long -term connection - not only on paper, but especially in the heart of people."
Harald Heiligenthal also looked back on the anniversary: "The real friendship was rarely as narrow as today. I am happy about this positive development."
