Kultur einer Digitalstadt eV, together with the AI Theatre, is launching a new series of events.
As announced by the initiative "Culture of a Digital City e.V." , the new event project "Such a Theater About Data" Moller Haus Theater in Darmstadt . In cooperation with AI Theatre, the successful art and discourse format "The Poetry of Data" continued. Several improvisational theater performances, lectures, discussions, and performances addressing social and ethical questions surrounding artificial intelligence are planned.
Opening with an improvised AI performance
To kick things off, an improvised theatrical performance addresses the provocative question: "Can AI be evil?"
Artificial intelligence has long been a part of everyday life and, at the same time, a projection screen for hopes and fears. AI systems can be used for destructive purposes in the hands of humans—for example, for digital fraud, disinformation, or autonomous weapons systems. But will AI one day make its own decisions, perhaps even against its creators?
Discussion about responsibility and ethics
Following the performance, director Stefan Kollmeier , the actresses of the AI Theatre , and invited scientists will discuss issues of AI safety, responsibility, and ethical boundaries . The discussion will also address the classic theme of good and evil – in humans and machines.
