Music, creativity and solidarity: Senior Citizens' Work invites you to the courtyard of Haus Raiss on 20 August
The city's senior citizen services department invites to a big summer festival at Haus Raiss (Frankfurter Straße 46, Riedstadt) Wednesday, August 20, 2025. "GG – Together We Can Do It," the will take place from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM , featuring a colorful stage program, creative hands-on activities, and culinary offerings. Admission is free.
The festival's motto embodies the idea that community, commitment, and creativity enable strong togetherness even in times of limited resources. Numerous groups that meet regularly at Haus Raiss helped shape the summer festival—a festival that is literally "homemade."
Program and activities at a glance
- 2 p.m. – Start with coffee & cake
- 3:00 p.m. – Welcome by Mayor Jörg Rüddenklau
- 3:15 p.m. – Musical afternoon
- 3.30 pm – Performance by the Fidelen Ukuleles
- 4 pm – Music with DJ Günter
There's plenty to do offstage, too:
Generational Support is organizing a cake buffet, and the creative group is inviting people to paint rocks with nail polish . The Parkinson's support group is bringing a mini ping-pong table. There will also be a hat flea market and information booths from the Alzheimer's Society and the Omas gegen Rechts (Grandmas Against the Right ).
Mirogh-Catering will provide catering , supported by volunteers from Haus Raiss.
Enable participation – donations welcome
The senior citizens' work is happy to receive support in the form of cake donations , well-preserved hats , fabric scraps or nail polish leftovers for creative activities.
Mayor Jörg Rüddenklau says:
"The summer festival at Haus Raiss wonderfully demonstrates how strong the sense of community is in our city. When many people achieve great things with small contributions, true participation and lived solidarity emerge."
