Particularly high traffic from July 12th awaits - tips for a relaxed journey
With the start of the holiday in North Rhine-Westphalia on the weekend from July 12th to 14th, 2025, Autobahn GmbH of the federal government expects a significant increase in travel all over Germany. Numerous federal states and parts of the Netherlands are already in the summer holidays - accordingly, the dust load on the German highways increases.
the south and the North and Baltic Sea are most affected . Especially on Friday, July 11 , and Saturday, July 12th , a longer dustary amount can be expected.
These highways are particularly risk of dams:
- A1 (Cologne - Lübeck)
- A2 (Rhein/Ruhr - Hanover)
- A3 , A5 , A7 , A59 , A61 (all overall)
- A8 (Karlsruhe - Salzburg)
- A9 (Nuremberg - Munich)
- A44 (Dortmund - Kassel)
- A93 (Dreieck Inntal - Austria)
On the following weekend (July 19-20), the first return movements are expected, which could lead to further loads in the entire network - even without new holiday starts in the federal states.
Tips for a relaxed journey:
- Inform about construction sites and closures
- Start rested , pack drinks and meals
- Plan regular breaks
- Observe the detours on dynamic directions
- Form the rescue alley at Stau
