Maglica and Hornby score for the Lilies in the DFB Cup opening match
SV Darmstadt 98 mastered their obligatory task in the first round of the DFB-Pokal: The Lilies defeated regional league side VfB Lübeck 2-1 (1-0). Filip Stojilkovic Maglica gave the South Hesse side the lead in the 34th minute, and Fraser Hornby headed in a Clemens Riedel cross to make it 2-0 (73rd minute). Darmstadt remained solid defensively for a long time, conceding little before Lübeck pulled one back through Becken in stoppage time. However, their progress to the next round was no longer in jeopardy.
