A dream pass decides a tough match at the Böllenfalltor
SV Darmstadt 98 celebrated a crucial victory in their fight against relegation from the 2. Bundesliga on Saturday. The Lilies defeated Greuther Fürth 1-0 in a disjointed match at the Böllenfalltor stadium.
The game was short on highlights but rich in commitment: both teams spent most of their time in midfield, and genuine scoring opportunities were scarce. But in the 79th minute came the decisive moment – and the one that made the trip to the stadium worthwhile: Jean-Paul Boëtius played a dreamlike through ball , perfectly timed for Isac Lidberg , who remained ice-cold and beat Fürth's goalkeeper.
Boëtius' brilliant pass – technically strong, quick-thinking and pinpoint accurate – was the highlight of the evening and impressively underlined the potential of the creative midfielder.
In the end, only the three points matter – and the realization that often a single moment is enough to decide a game. This time it was a positive moment for Darmstadt.
