The centre-back will transfer from Bayern Munich II to Darmstadt 98 until the end of the season
SV Darmstadt 98 has filled its open position in central defense. Grayson Dettoni joins the club on loan from FC Bayern Munich II until the end of the season.
Sporting director Paul Fernie sees the 20-year-old as a targeted reinforcement for the defense: Dettoni fits the desired profile very well, is ambitious, eager to learn, and ready to embrace his role in the team. He possesses a strong footballing education, a good understanding of the game, and sound decision-making on the ball. Furthermore, he actively defends and has the necessary mentality for direct duels.
Grayson Dettoni is also looking forward to his new challenge. The center-back is excited about the move to Darmstadt and the opportunity to become part of an ambitious second-division club. His goal is to quickly adapt to the level of play and take the next step in his development with the Lilies.
The American was born in Manassas, Virginia, and began his soccer career in California with the San Diego Surf. At the age of ten, Dettoni moved with his family to Germany and initially played for TSV 1860 Munich before joining FC Bayern Munich's youth academy in 2017. There, he progressed through all the youth teams and made his debut for the German record champions' reserve team in September 2023.
Dettoni made a total of 45 appearances in the Regionalliga (fourth tier) for Bayern Munich II. In January 2025, he signed his first professional contract and was subsequently loaned to Grasshopper Club Zurich . This season, he has made nine appearances in the Regionalliga Bayern.

Grayson Dettoni will wear the number four jersey for Darmstadt 98 in the future.
