Two talents from the club's own youth academy are promoted to the professional squad of the Lilies
SV Darmstadt 98 continues to focus on promoting young talents from its own youth performance center: 18-year-old players Tim Arnold and Max Pfister will receive professional contracts for the upcoming season and will be permanently included in the squad of the Lilies.
“Max and Tim are an ideal example of our approach of allowing young players to gain early experience in senior football via the U21 team,” explains Paul Fernie, Sporting Director at SV 98. “Both have proven in the U21s and with the first team that they possess great potential and are extremely eager to learn. We are very pleased to give them the opportunity to develop further at the professional level.”
Continuous development via the U21 team and training sessions with the professionals
Tim Arnold , who has played in the youth academy of Darmstadt 98 since the U11 level, was already in the first-team squad six times under coach Florian Kohfeldt . He was also regularly involved in the training sessions of the second-division team.
Max Pfister , who moved from the youth academy of 1. FSV Mainz 05 to Darmstadt in 2022, also participated in many training sessions of the professionals and was part of the squads in both training camps – in summer as well as in winter.
Strong performances in the Hessenliga
played for the U21s in the Hessenliga Tim Arnold 26 appearances there , Max Pfister (born 2007) played in 27 matches and also made two appearances for the U19s in the DFB Youth League (German Football Association Youth League).
With the new professional contracts, SV Darmstadt 98 once again underlines its long-term concept of talent development and its strategic focus on its own youth academy.
