Restrictions to combat the virus remain in place
The Groß-Gerau district has announced that the warning for African swine fever (ASF) in the NINA warning app is no longer active. This has caused confusion among many users.
Warning removed, measures remain in place
However, the lifting of the warning does not mean that the existing restrictions have been lifted. These remain in effect and serve to combat the animal disease.
The district emphasizes that there was no immediate danger to the population from African swine fever. The notification was removed because similar warnings had already been discontinued in other apps.
No new cases for months
According to the district, no new cases of African swine fever have been detected for several months. Nevertheless, measures will remain in place to prevent further spread.
Function of the warning app
The NINA app provides nationwide and local information about hazardous situations such as severe weather, fires, or other emergencies. It combines information from the Modular Warning System as well as data from the German Weather Service.
