Crime novel reading by the Literature Initiative
On March 18, 2025 at 7 p.m., the Literature Initiative in the Darmstadt KulturStärken eV association invites you to an author reading in the gallery of the Rosengarten restaurant as part of the Literature Scene South Hesse series.
Heike Wemper-Dany reads from her second Dauborn crime novel, "Fenier," published by Coortextverlag in Altheim in 2024. A discovery in the attic of the Dauborn forester's lodge prompts BKA officer Svenja Fischer to embark on a journey into the past. In Belfast, she not only encounters an old acquaintance but also stumbles upon one of the tragic stories of innocent people within the Northern Ireland conflict. How is her friend Paul involved? And what does the tranquil village in the Golden Ground have to do with the IRA?
Heike Wempen-Dany was born in 1976 and has lived with her husband in Dauborn in the Limburg-Weilburg district since 2007. After completing her studies, she remained fascinated by history and politics, even though she pursued a different career path. Seven years ago, she wrote her first crime novel, "Die beiden Kammern" (The Two Chambers). Published in February 2022, the novel is set in South Tyrol in both the 1980s and the mid-1930s, but the main character is from Limburg. Her first Dauborn crime novel, "Läuferopfer" (Bishop Sacrifice), about a master thief and grand chess master, was published in 2023.
