President Christian Jöst: "For the first time, small and medium-sized enterprises are in focus"
As the Darmstadt Rhine Main Neckar Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) reports, IHK President Christian Jöst sees latest package of measures to reduce bureaucracy as an important step towards a noticeable relief for companies .
Immediate action program for small and medium-sized enterprises
With its immediate action program to reduce bureaucracy in occupational safety, the German government is for the first time specifically targeting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) . For Jöst, an entrepreneur from the Odenwald region, this is a long overdue step.
"This not only frees up personnel capacity, but also reduces documentation and reporting obligations. The immediate action program reflects reality – because in small businesses, the owner takes care of everything and bears the responsibility at the same time."
The planned simplifications are intended in particular to reduce the administrative burden and strengthen entrepreneurial freedom
Further relief measures decided
In addition to the occupational safety package, the cabinet decision included further measures intended to relieve the burden on businesses. These include the elimination of the requirement for regular professional development for real estate agents and property managers – a demand that the Chambers of Industry and Commerce had been making since the amendment of the Trade Regulation Act.
planned acceleration of business start-ups positively , but points out practical hurdles:
“‘Start a business in 24 hours’ sounds good, but is primarily marketing speak. Hardly any trade office needs longer than a quarter of an hour for the business license. The real bottleneck is the commercial register.”
Since many processes are linked to registration in the commercial register – such as the registration of company vehicles or the conclusion of contracts – Jöst suggests that notaries could carry out the registrations directly in the future.
Appeal to the Federal Government
In conclusion, Jöst emphasized:
"Implement the cabinet decisions quickly and then continue consistently – the direction is right. It is crucial that the relief measures do not remain on paper, but are implemented in practice."
