Change of leadership at the Darmstadt-based energy and telecommunications service provider on January 1, 2026
As of January 1, 2026, Thomas Schmidt will assume the role of CEO of ENTEGA AG. He succeeds Marie-Luise Wolff , who shaped the company for many years. Together with CFO Albrecht Förster and Andreas Niedermaier , Board Member for Human Resources and Infrastructure, Schmidt will form the three-member board of the Darmstadt-based green energy and telecommunications provider.
“ I am very much looking forward to the new task of leading ENTEGA together with a strong team and expanding its sustainable focus. We will strengthen the regional infrastructure – especially fiber optics and the energy transition invest more than 1.1 billion euros in the coming years . This is an enormous effort, for which we are well positioned,” explained Schmidt.
Extensive experience within the ENTEGA Group
Thomas Schmidt the Executive Board Member for Sales and Trading since February 2022. Previously, he held various management positions within the group, including Chairman of the Management Board of ENTEGA Medianet GmbH , Managing Director of PEP Breitband GmbH , and Chairman of the Management Board of ENTEGA Plus GmbH .
Schmidt's career path led him to Mainova AG , where he held management positions. With his appointment, ENTEGA is ensuring continuity and in-house expertise at the company's helm.
