BUND and the adult education center provide information about the spring migration of amphibians
The German Federation for the Environment and Nature Conservation (BUND) and the Darmstadt Adult Education Center (Volkshochschule Darmstadt) invite you to a tour of the amphibian conservation measures in Darmstadt on Saturday, March 22nd . The free event starts at 2:30 pm .
An insight into conservation measures for amphibians
Between February and April, many amphibians are on their annual spring migration to their breeding ponds. The event will present the life cycles of toads and newts, as well as measures for their protection.
Participants also learn why it is forbidden and also not advisable to take amphibians from nature and, for example, to introduce them into their own garden.
Opportunity for practical assistance
Depending on the weather conditions, there is the possibility to participate in a relocation project on site and thus actively help to protect the animals.
The meeting point is at the edge of the forest on Hilpertstraße, in front of the entrance to the Sabine-Ball-School in Darmstadt. Sturdy footwear and weather-appropriate clothing are recommended for participation.
