Creative workshop “Get to the center!”
The district town of Groß-Gerau is calling for active participation in the state competition "Ab in die Mitte!" 2025. Under the motto "Bring life back to your city," a creative workshop will be held as part of this competition, offering interested parties the opportunity to develop an innovative idea for revitalizing the city center and thus have the chance to win funding of up to €25,000 .
The workshop will take place on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Old District Court of Groß-Gerau (Darmstädter Straße 31). The state-wide competition "Ab in die Mitte!" (Get to the Center!) aims to make city centers more vibrant and attractive. In cooperation with the Darmstadt Rhine-Main-Neckar Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK), the town of Groß-Gerau is organizing a creative workshop where concrete project ideas will be developed. The focus is on reducing vacancies, revitalizing the city center, and making Groß-Gerau more sustainable for the future.
Workshop Content: The workshop focuses on creative idea generation. Together, participants will develop an exciting project idea, which will then be transformed on-site into a detailed project description and an application video. Modern creative methods foster inspiring collaboration, generating innovative approaches for inner-city development. The final idea will be submitted directly to the competition, ensuring the workshop makes a direct contribution to urban design.
Mayor Jörg Rüddenklau emphasizes: “The creative workshop is a prime example of active civic engagement. Here, all generations have the opportunity to actively shape the future of the city center. Together, innovative ideas can be developed that will revitalize Groß-Gerau and make it more attractive.” This process thrives on diverse perspectives. Regardless of age, profession, interests, or previous experience, every creative idea contributes to the shared development.
