Photo documentation by René Antonoff shows first impressions
The grand opening of the TONY CRAGG on April 26, 2025 – but things are already in full swing on the Mathildenhöhe, the Rosenhöhe, and around the Spanish Tower in Darmstadt. The impressive sculptures by the internationally renowned artist Tony Cragg, including works such as "Points of View , "Stack , "Tommy," and "Mixed Feelings," have been maneuvered into their precisely planned positions using heavy machinery in recent days.
Darmstadt photographer René Antonoff documented the installation and captured impressive images for DA.news . The photo gallery shows that before Cragg's sculptures can unfold their serene power in public spaces, the utmost precision is required – for example, in attaching the loops that must provide secure support for the multi-ton objects during crane transport.
A particular highlight of the exhibition is the stainless steel sculpture "Points of View ," which, at over six meters tall, has been placed directly in front of the Mathildenhöhe Darmstadt . Further works can be seen along the sculpture trail, which stretches for approximately 1.3 kilometers through public space.
The official opening will take place on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. in front of the exhibition building on Mathildenhöhe. The exhibition runs until October 26, 2025. Further
