OWK Groß-Gerau starts the new hiking year
With great hello and many wishes for the new hiking year, 62 people who were enthusiastic about running met to tackle the first tour in 2025. In winter temperatures, the hikers enjoyed the beautiful landscape. And a warming sip of hiking guide Peter Jung was also welcome before both groups set off from the meeting point in Hassloch.
Along the Horlachgraben covered with some ice, the enthusiasts reached the forest. Passing the Naturfreundehaus Rüsselsheim and the now abandoned wild boar enclosure in the Raunheimer Wald, the Owk'ler came to the rustic restaurant "Zum Bembelsche" for the lunch break. Group 2 had already gathered there, which had chosen a shorter route. Together, group 1 and 2 and the "drivers" were able to fortify themselves.
Both groups started the way back to the starting point. Chairman Wolfgang Schmall thanked the hiking guides for the organization and implementation of the tour, in which 10 km from group 1 and 7 km from group 2. The hiking management had Reiner Dietz, Evi Guntermann, Andreas Grund, Peter Jung and Reinhard Roth.
