Carnival revelers demanded the town hall key from Mayor Benz at 12:11 pm
The Darmstadt carnival associations symbolically seize power at the town hall again on Saturday, January 17th The traditional storming of the town hall will begin 12:11 pm square in front of the Central Station .
The carnival revelers are demanding that Hanno Benz and the city council of Darmstadt hand over the town hall key. As is the spirit of carnival tradition, a determined – albeit tongue-in-cheek – resistance from the mayor and the city council is to be expected.
The storming of the town hall is a traditional part of Darmstadt's carnival season and marks one of the highlights of the festivities each year. Interested citizens and media representatives are invited to witness the event firsthand.
