City reviews one-way street system to increase safety
The city of Weiterstadt is adjusting the traffic situation around the Astrid Lindgren School. This is due to the school's relocation from its current site. The aim of the measure is to continue ensuring the safety of all road users – especially children.
The one-way street regulation will remain in place for now
The existing one-way traffic system on Lindenstraße will remain in place for the time being and will continue to be monitored during a trial period. The responsible road traffic authority will examine the extent to which the current traffic management system takes into account both the safety of the students and the needs of the residents.
Further measures possible
The situation on the ground will be continuously evaluated. If necessary, additional measures can be taken to further improve the traffic situation.
The current arrangement is viewed positively by some residents, the school administration, and the relevant authorities. At the same time, there are also critical voices from the neighborhood. The city therefore continues to encourage residents to submit comments and suggestions.
Accessibility remains guaranteed
The forest road remains accessible via Am Kirchpfad and Georgenstraße. According to the city, the current traffic management plan will significantly reduce congestion in the area and improve safety for everyone involved.
