Work between Ostbahnhof and Hofgut Oberfeld will begin on March 10th
Tuesday, March 10th Darmstadt will implement measures to improve traffic safety on Erbacher Straße. The Mobility and Civil Engineering Office will be installing new road markings and additional signage between Darmstadt East Station and the Oberfeld Estate.
Clearer road markings for better visibility
The roadway will be clearly defined in the future through adjusted markings. The roadway will have a clearly visible width of six and a half meters . These markings are intended to improve orientation for road users and simultaneously contribute to traffic calming.
Increased safety at bus stops
Reflective guideposts will be installed at bus stops located on the city-bound side . These will visually and spatially separate the waiting areas from the roadway and are intended to increase the sense of security for waiting passengers.
Bicycle pictograms for better guidance of bicycle traffic
bicycle pictograms will be painted on the road surface . These are intended to provide clearer guidance for cyclists in the future. In conjunction with the new road markings, this should improve safety for cyclists.
Head of Transport Paul Georg Wandrey emphasizes that with these measures the city is underlining its commitment to safe and clear traffic management for all road users.
