The city invites citizens, associations, companies and school classes to support urban green spaces.
The city of Darmstadt, a center of science and research, has announced that interested individuals can once again actively support the city's green spaces: Through the "Donation Tree" , it is possible to have a tree planted at a selected location for €400. Citizens, businesses, associations, and school classes are all eligible to participate.
Contribution to the urban climate and quality of life
“Trees provide shade, filter the air, offer habitat – and shape the image of a livable city,” says Michael Kolmer, . Every donation is a visible contribution to a better urban climate and, at the same time, a commitment to Darmstadt’s future. “I am delighted by everyone who is involved in caring for our trees and planting a piece of the future.”

The tree donation includes:
- Selecting an available location
- Tree planting in winter 2025/2026
- Certificate and, upon request, a donation receipt
New this year is the option to be personally present when your own tree is planted . This creates an additional sense of identification, says Kolmer: "A beautiful moment that strengthens awareness of the value of each individual tree."
