Green area office takes measures to ensure the safety of residents and visitors
In the southern forest area between Damaschkestrasse and Bäckerweg in the Eberstadt district, urgently required traffic safety measures will be carried out at the end of February. The green area office of the science city of Darmstadt removes trees at risk of breakage to ensure the safety of residents as well as forest visitors.
The work is taken into account, taking into account the Darmstadt model for the city forest with the most gentle machine support possible.
The forest area affected has been blocked since 2021 in accordance with §16 of the Hessian Forest Act to protect against falling branches, dropouts and falling trees. In addition to the necessary measures for traffic safety, dead trees are removed within the work area.
