The Parks Department is implementing measures to ensure the safety of residents and visitors
In the southern wooded area between Damaschkestraße and Bäckerweg in the Eberstadt district, urgently needed traffic safety measures will be carried out at the end of February. The Darmstadt Parks and Green Spaces Department will remove trees at risk of breaking to ensure the safety of residents and forest visitors.
The work is being carried out in accordance with Darmstadt's guiding principles for the city forest, using machinery with the gentlest possible support.
The affected forest area has been closed since 2021 in accordance with Section 16 of the Hessian Forest Act to protect against falling branches, breaking crowns, and toppling trees. In addition to the necessary traffic safety measures, dead trees within the work area are being removed.
