Road safety requires felling of linden and two silver maples
According to the city of Weiterstadt, several trees in Gräfenhausen and Braunshardt will have to be felled in October 2025. The reason is a severe infestation with tinder fungus, which significantly impairs their stability.
of the linden tree in front of the German Red Cross (DRK) in Gräfenhausen revealed extensive rot in the trunk. Its stability is no longer guaranteed, making felling necessary for traffic safety reasons.
Two silver maples on the lawn in front of the indoor swimming pool are also heavily infested with tinder fungus. The tree inspector also diagnosed significant structural impairment. These trees will also be felled to prevent danger to passersby and visitors.
The measures will be implemented after completion of the species protection assessment and after the end of the breeding and nesting season in October 2025.
