Satirical duo brings new program “Hope – a serving suggestion” to the halbNeun Theater
With their new live program "Hope – A Serving Suggestion," the award-winning satire duo ONKeL fISCH in Darmstadt for the first time. On Friday, March 6, 2026, the duo will take to the stage of the halbNeun Theater , bringing with them a mix of modern cabaret, music, movement, and pointed social commentary.
ONKeL fISCH deliberately focus on shifting perspectives rather than constant outrage in their current program. Amidst the climate crisis, political conflicts, and social upheavals, they advocate for composure, humor, and the ability to embrace hope as an attitude. Adrian Engels and Markus Riedinger combine sharp satire with song, dance, and a deliberately slowed-down dramaturgy – cabaret "at German pace," as they themselves call it.
The duo has been performing on German stages for over 30 years and is considered a fixture in the satirical scene. In addition to numerous live performances, ONKeL fISCH are regulars on radio and television, including on WDR, SWR, and HR. Several programs have been recorded for television, and they have also released CDs, published books, and received numerous awards.
The performance in Darmstadt marks the premiere of the new program in the city of science and also the duo's first performance at the halbNeun Theater.
