The environmental agency invites you to excursions focusing on plants and insects
Darmstadt is launching its new season of urban nature walks. According to the environmental office, the first walk will take place on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at 6 p.m.
Kick-off in the Martinsviertel
To kick things off, the first flowering native plants will be presented in the nature garden show area at Schloßgartenplatz. The focus will be on their importance for insects such as bees and butterflies.
Afterwards, a short walk leads through the Martinsviertel district. The focus is on wild herbs such as arugula, dandelion or daisies, which play a role both in human nutrition and in biodiversity.
Monthly walks planned
The urban nature walks are planned to take place once a month. The aim is to provide insights into the green spaces of the city center and to convey the importance of urban green spaces.
Participation in the events is free of charge. Further information can be found in the event calendar .
