Video surveillance installed - city provides all incidents
After repeated cases of vandalism and unauthorized entering, the science city of Darmstadt has taken extensive security measures on the site of the former clinic in Eberstadt. Recently, the entire area has been monitored by real-time video surveillance. The cameras are switched on directly to a security service that immediately notifies the police in the event of an incident.
The measures already have an impact: two people could be caught and arrested in a fresh act after installation. Against both of a criminal complaint was submitted for trespassing and property damage. The city also reacts with increased signage and additional fences in order to secure the area even better.
City treasurer André Schellenberg emphasizes:
"All historic buildings on this area are under monument protection and are highly worth protecting. They should be renovated in the near future and converted into urgently needed living space. Therefore, all break -ins and property damage will be consistently displayed."
The city of Darmstadt calls not to enter the site and adhere to the existing prohibition and signs.
