New Year's reception attracts mayors and new members
The VDK local association Rüsselsheim traditionally started the new year with a well-attended New Year's greeting, as it says in a current press release. Around 100 guests came together on February 2, 2025 on the municipal square to initiate the new year together.
In a relaxed atmosphere, the board welcomed, among others, Mayor Murat Karakaya, several chairpersons of neighboring local associations as well as the deputy state chairman and district chairman Patrick Nau. Despite the cold temperatures, around 100 cups of hot punch and about 50 portions of Spundeskäs provided a pleasant atmosphere and good conversations.
The association was also able to win some new members as part of the event. With around 2,090 members, the VdK local association Rüsselsheim is one of the five largest local associations in Hesse and Thuringia and is the most members of a total of 24 local associations in the Groß-Gerau district. The volunteer board is pleased to welcome interested parties to future events. Dates can be found under events .
