City shows flag for the nationwide veteran day on June 15th
On the occasion of the nationwide veteran day on Sunday, June 15, 2025 , the science city of Darmstadt expresses their thanks and appreciation former soldiers of the Bundeswehr .
The veteran day, , is intended to put the services of former Bundeswehr members more into public awareness. Many of them served under sometimes difficult conditions at home and abroad. Their commitment deserves social appreciation, respect and support .
Sign of recognition at Luisenplatz
The Federal Minister of the Interior caused a nationwide flag for the commemoration day. In Darmstadt, too, the federal flag is raised on Luisenplatz to set a visible sign of recognition.
The veteran day is to be understood annually as a commemorative and recognition day for the approximately ten million people who have served in its ranks since the Bundeswehr was founded.
