The Ecumenical Working Group Eberstadt invites you to a commemoration at the Modau Bridge on November 10th.
Darmstadt-Eberstadt. In remembrance of Kristallnacht (the Night of Broken Glass) of 1938, the Ecumenical Working Group Eberstadt to a vigil at the Modau Bridge on Monday, November 10, 2025 , at 6 p.m. The occasion is the destruction of the former Eberstadt synagogue , which was burned down on the night of November 9-10, 1938.
Following the wreath-laying ceremony by District Administrator Lutz Achenbach, Pastor Jonas Bauer will offer a . Karin Lübbe musical accompaniment for the memorial service .
A special feature this year is the 3D model of the former synagogue , which will be set up during the vigil. Afterwards, the working group will present the virtual reconstruction of the synagogue , commissioned by the Dotter Foundation created by the Technical University of Darmstadt
The vigil is intended to commemorate the victims of Nazi tyranny and to send a message against anti-Semitism and hatred.
