The Ecumenical Working Group Eberstadt invites you to a commemoration at the Modau Bridge on November 10th
Darmstadt-Eberstadt. In remembrance of Kristallnacht (the Night of Broken Glass) of 1938, the Ecumenical Working Group Eberstadt on Monday, November 10, 2025, at 6 p.m. the public to a vigil at the Modau Bridge The occasion is the destruction of the former Eberstadt synagogue, which was burned down on the night of November 9-10, 1938.
Following the wreath-laying ceremony by District Administrator Lutz Achenbach, will offer a Pastor Jonas Bauer. musical accompaniment for the memorial service Karin Lübbe.
A special feature this year is the 3D model of the former synagogue, which will be set up during the vigil. Afterwards, the working group will present the virtual reconstruction of the synagogue, commissioned by the Dotter Foundation by the Technical University of Darmstadt created
The vigil is intended to commemorate the victims of Nazi tyranny and to send a message against anti-Semitism and hatred.
