A joint initiative for children from 23 special needs schools brings hope and joy
For many children, Christmas wish lists top items like computer games, smartphones, or tablets. However, 23 special needs schools in the Volksbank Darmstadt Mainz service area lunchboxes, card games, puzzles, craft supplies , but also very basic items like shoes, jackets, or T-shirts .
These wishes are small – yet of great importance. The employees of Volksbank Darmstadt Mainz have fulfilled heartfelt wishes Hope for Children Foundation , which coordinates the campaign, hundreds of Christmas wishes were collected. Every child will receive a gift.
In the week before Christmas, a total of 403 lovingly wrapped packages delivered to the participating special needs schools. The initiative is an impressive community effort that goes far beyond simply giving gifts: it brings joy, warmth, and hope directly into the classrooms.
" What one person cannot achieve alone, many can achieve together, " said Friedrich Wilhelm Raiffeisen, one of the founders of the cooperative movement. This idea was brought to life at Volksbank Darmstadt Mainz: Over 200 employees , spread across 20 departments and six branches , participated in the initiative and worked together to make Christmas more joyful.
Matthias Martiné, Chairman of the Board of the Hope for Children Foundation , expressly thanks all those involved and acknowledges the great commitment that made this special Christmas project possible.
