Nine volunteers successfully complete training in the voluntary police service.
As the South Hesse Police Headquarters reports, nine volunteer citizens have successfully completed their training in the Voluntary Police Service . The qualification course lasted several weeks and comprised a total of 50 training hours , conducted by experienced police officers.
Participants gained insights into legal principles, communication techniques, behavioral guidelines, and practical training. The goal is to optimally prepare volunteers for their work.
Supplement to police and municipal police
The volunteer police service has existed in southern Hesse since 2004 and is part of the KOMPASS security initiative . The tasks of the volunteer police officers are clearly defined:
- Show presence
- Observe
- Report
In addition, they conduct preventative discussions with citizens and are visibly present in the city as uniformed foot patrols. In doing so, they complement the work of the state and local police.
Deployment in seven municipalities
Currently, over 70 volunteers in 17 towns and municipalities . The newly trained police auxiliaries will be deployed in Groß-Umstadt, Dieburg, Weiterstadt, Nauheim, Groß-Gerau, Kelsterbach, and Bensheim .
Upon completion of their training, they begin a responsible service in the interest of public safety. The South Hesse Police Headquarters wishes them every success in their duties.
