The city is once again participating in the Hessian engagement program
Weiterstadt is participating in the Hessian Engagement Guide Program for the eleventh time in 2026 and is looking for committed citizens who would like to be qualified.
According to the city, volunteer work strengthens social cohesion, makes societal diversity visible, and helps municipalities better address social challenges. Many positive developments of recent years would not have been possible without the dedication of numerous volunteers.
"For the city, cooperation with volunteers has become indispensable," explains Annette Braun from the volunteer agency. At the same time, the volunteers themselves experience this commitment as enriching, as they can be effective and make their own contribution to a successful community.
Qualification and project work
The Engagement Guide Program of the Hessian State Volunteer Agency supports and promotes volunteer work in local communities. Volunteers receive training in special events to develop and implement their own projects, as well as to coordinate and support other volunteers.
The program has led, among other things, to the creation of the Weiterstadt Volunteer Agency, which brings together numerous volunteer-run projects.
