Non-profit organizations in Hesse can apply for up to 15,000 euros.
Non-profit associations, organizations, and clubs in Hesse will once again have the opportunity to apply for funding to digitize their volunteer work starting April 23. The application period for the "Volunteering Digitized!" program of the Hessian Ministry for Digital Affairs and Innovation runs until May 8.
The state budget for 2025 again allocates €1.5 million for this purpose. The program aims to support volunteer-run organizations in the digital development of their internal processes – for example, through the introduction of member management software, digital communication solutions, or online training and consulting services.
The funding amounts range from €5,000 to €15,000. Eligible applicants are non-profit legal entities under private law, such as registered associations or non-profit limited liability companies (gGmbHs), based in Hesse. Hessian umbrella organizations can also apply.
Bijan Kaffenberger (SPD), a member of the state parliament from Darmstadt and his party's spokesperson on digital policy, expressed a positive view of the program's relaunch: Many associations possess great potential that could be better utilized through targeted digitalization. "Digital tools directly strengthen volunteer work," Kaffenberger stated.
The funding program has been running for several years. Since its launch, over 800 projects in Hesse have been approved. Applications can only be submitted digitally. Further information and access to the platform are available on the ministry's website:
