Key player Aleksandar Vukotic sets a precedent for the future
Darmstadt. SV Darmstadt 98 has extended the contract of central defender Aleksandar Vukotic ahead of schedule. The 1.95-meter-tall defender, who has developed into a key player since his transfer from SV Wehen Wiesbaden in the summer of 2024, will therefore remain with the Lilies in the future.
Sporting director Paul Fernie is extremely pleased with the development of the 28-year-old Serbian:
"Vuko has developed into an absolute leader since his transfer. We knew about his tackling ability and heading ability, but it's clear to see the progress he's made on various levels. Accordingly, we are very happy about his continued commitment to Darmstadt."
Aleksandar Vukotic also expressed his positive feelings:
"I feel incredibly comfortable in the team and throughout the entire club. From day one, I felt that my strengths were a great fit for Darmstadt. I'm looking forward to my future in Darmstadt and to experiencing many more special moments with the team."
In his first season with SV 98, Vukotic made 35 appearances and scored four goals . The robust center-back was also a key factor season opener against VfL Bochum 4-1 and effectively deciding the match.
