Leading player Aleksandar Vukotic sets the tone for the future
Darmstadt. SV Darmstadt 98 has prematurely extended the contract of central defender Aleksandar Vukotic . The 1.95-meter-tall defender, who has developed into a key player since his transfer from SV Wehen Wiesbaden in the summer of 2024, will thus remain with the Lilies for the future.
Sporting Director Paul Fernie is extremely pleased with the 28-year-old Serbian's development:
"Vuko has developed into a true leader since his transfer. We knew about his tackling ability and heading ability, but it's clear to see the progress he's made at various levels. Accordingly, we're very happy about his continued commitment to the Lilies."
Aleksandar Vukotic also expressed his positive opinion:
"I feel incredibly comfortable in the team and in the entire club. From day one, I felt that my strengths fit in very well with the Lilies. I'm looking forward to my future in Darmstadt and to experiencing many more special moments with the team."
In his first season with SV 98, Vukotic made 35 competitive appearances and scored four goals . The robust central defender was also a decisive factor season opener against VfL Bochum 4-1 ahead.
