Updated information for garden owners and builders in Hesse
The Darmstadt Regional Council has published a revised information sheet on the disposal of construction waste . It is aimed at private individuals, garden owners, building contractors, and companies involved in demolition or dismantling work, such as the dismantling of buildings, garden sheds, or paved areas.
The information sheet "Disposal of Construction Waste" provides comprehensive information on the current legal requirements for the disposal of construction debris, soil materials, and demolition materials . It serves as a guide for anyone who wants to dispose of construction site waste properly – whether in a private garden or for larger construction projects.
New legal situation taken into account
The waste management departments of the three Hessian regional councils (Darmstadt, Frankfurt, Wiesbaden) jointly prepared the information sheet. It takes into account the most important changes in waste law, including:
- Introduction of the Substitute Building Materials Ordinance
- Amendments to the Commercial Waste Ordinance
- Guidelines from the Federal/State Working Group on Waste (LAGA)
These regulations also affect private landowners, e.g. when disposing of construction debris from garden walls, old terraces or paths .
The information sheet is available online and can be downloaded here:
