Charity golf series of the WIEST Group collects the first donations for sick children in Darmstadt
As the organizers of the WCGTour say, the popular charity golf series of the WIET Group started the new season at GC Kiawah Golfpark Riedstadt last Friday. Despite changeable weather forecasts and short -term cancellations, the mood at the opening tournament remained positive. Around 40 golfers played committed on the well-kept nine-hoch-Platz and achieved remarkable results.
Home advantage played out: GC Kiawah represents the winner in all classes
Sebastian Huber from GC Kiawah secured the daily victory with 16 gross points and thus qualified for the big touring finale in August in Gernsheim. Players of the home club also dominated in the net ratings: Ralf Stieglitz (19 net points) and Heitho Geipert (20 net points) won their classes. All winners of the gross and handicap ratings as well as the special ratings received high-quality gift baskets from Edeka Patschull and other prices from the tour partners.

Funding campaign for the association for children with cancer Darmstadt
As in previous years, the focus is not only on sporting competition, but also social engagement. The around 50 partner companies donate fixed amounts to the Association for Cancer and Chronically ill Darmstadt (VKKD) per played hole-in-one, birdie, Eagle, par or Bogey. Almost 300 euros came together for the opening tournament.
"Of course we would have liked a higher donation at the start," said organizer Jörg Dieckmann from the adventure creators. "However, the short -term cancellations due to the weather also influenced the donation proceeds. We still look at the coming tournaments confidently."
Next tour stop: Golf Sport Park Groß-Zimmern
The next tournament of the WCGTour will take place on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, in the Golf Sport Park Groß-Zimmer. There is continuing as part of a traditional after-work tournament-and collected.
