Santa Claus brings joy to the town hall
The Wishing Tree campaign in the town of Riedstadt, known for , was a resounding success again this year. In record time all 168 wishes of underprivileged children were selected from the Wishing Tree in the town hall foyer and from the virtual Wishing Tree on the town's website, fulfilled, and lovingly wrapped before being delivered to the town hall reception. A total of 284 children up to and including ten years of age eligible to participate.
Gift presentation with a special visit
A few days before Christmas, the Wishing Tree campaign culminated in a special highlight: Santa Claus himself took a seat in front of the Wishing Tree in the town hall foyer. Children who collected their gifts at the entrance to the wedding room were also able to have their picture taken there with the gift-bringer.
Mayor Marcus Kretschmann was impressed by the great willingness to help in the city:
“ I am deeply impressed by how many people in our city wanted to bring joy to children from families who are not so well off financially. ”
Ten years of lived solidarity
The Wishing Tree campaign took place in Riedstadt for the tenth time . Even during the pandemic, the campaign continued. In the first year of the pandemic, it was implemented entirely digitally; in 2021, a Wishing Tree bulletin board was added in the town hall foyer. Since 2022 , wishes can be selected and fulfilled Wishing Tree in the town hall foyer and via the virtual Wishing Tree
