The #WomenBuildingDarmstadt initiative invites you to lectures, discussions and exchanges
Women from architecture, urban planning, crafts, administration, and many other areas of the construction industry will meet on Saturday, June 28, 2025 , for a special networking event in downtown Darmstadt . The meeting point will be easily identifiable by a large pink carpet , which serves as a symbol: instead of sweeping under the rug what women in the industry contribute, their work will be brought into the spotlight.
The program begins at 3 p.m. on Wilhelminenstraße in front of the Alice Monument . Under the themes of "Urban Shapers" and "Homemade," short presentations and panel discussions will take place, aimed at both experts and interested members of the public. The event will be moderated by Lisa Köhler and Miriam Weckerle .
Make visible, network, shape
The event is part of the nationwide network WOMEN IN ARCHITECTURE (WIA) , which will take place from June 19th to 29th , 2025. Originally launched in Berlin, the festival aims to showcase the diversity and expertise of women in all areas of construction – from planning and craftsmanship to financing.
A key objective is to network different professional groups and promote exchange. Female students, trainees, and recent graduates are invited, as well as experienced female professionals from the region.
Alongside the networking day on June 28th, an accompanying video campaign , featuring short videos from women in the industry using the hashtag #FrauenBauenDarmstadt (WomenBuildingDarmstadt) . The clips offer personal insights into their daily work and illustrate the diversity of the construction industry. The first videos can be found here:
