Dementia Network raises awareness with events from 19 to 28 September
Under the motto "Dementia – Being and Remaining Human," World Alzheimer's Day on September 21, 2025, reminds us that people with dementia are not defined by their disease, but remain part of society. The goal is to reduce prejudice and strengthen understanding and compassion.
the Griesheim Senior Citizens' Office is drawing attention to a joint campaign in the district initiated Darmstadt-Dieburg Dementia Network September 19 to 28 , banners will be displayed in public spaces, and various events will also take place – from specialist lectures and film screenings to information tables in front of town halls .
One example is the lecture in Pfungstadt on "Enjoying Everyday Life with Dementia ," which is aimed at family members, interested parties, and caregivers. Darmstadt-Dieburg Dementia Network
The network is run by the Diakonisches Werk Darmstadt-Dieburg and funded by statutory long-term care insurance funds. Participating partners include medical professionals, academics, volunteers, church organizations, district administrations, nursing centers, and numerous municipalities.
