Sociologist Dr. Swantje Goebel has been active in hospice work for 25 years, is involved with the German Society for Patient Dignity e.V., and serves on the board of the facilities of the Bergstra\u00dfe Hospice in Bensheim\/Southern Hesse. With extensive experience in hospice care and palliative expertise, she will address key questions surrounding autonomy and quality of life in the final stages of life in her presentation, as well as delve into the profound question of how a self-determined life can be achieved until the very end. The \"Wegwarte\" outpatient hospice service has been dedicated to supporting seriously ill individuals and their families for 25 years. This anniversary provides an opportunity to recognize the invaluable work of the volunteers and to underscore the importance of hospice care in our society. The event is open to all interested parties, regardless of whether they have previous experience with hospice care or are exploring it for the first time. Participation is free of charge, and registration is not required.
